While most kids his age still learn basic facts, Max firmly believes he profoundly connects to the legendary Gucci founder.Since the tender age of 4, Max has channeled his creativity into designing and crafting clothes, showcasing a talent far beyond his years. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Max confidently declares, “I was Gucci” when discussing his past life. Max’s incredible journey as a dressmaker has caught the attention of celebrities, leading to commissions for his unique creations and global sales of his garments.
His supportive mom here Madison, sat down with PEOPLE to discuss his remarkable achievements and the discovery of his innate design skills. Initially unaware of Max’s hidden talent, Madison was astonished when he expressed a keen interest in dressmaking at just four years old. From that moment on, his extraordinary abilities became evident, leaving no doubt about his natural gift for fashion. “I didn’t notice. He told us. We were at dinner during the lockdown, and he just literally announced, ‘I need a mannequin,’ ” she told People.
Max’s extraordinary talent as a dressmaker took flight when his mother, Sherri Madison, a cardboard artist, fashioned his first mannequin out of cardboard.
“He just started making dresses; it was the craziest thing,” Madison shares, recalling the moment she excitedly called her husband to witness Max’s unexpected creativity
Max’s innate talent soon became evident despite having no prior experience or exposure to the fashion world. It was later revealed that fashion ran in his family’s blood, with his grandparents having been involved in the fashion industry in Montreal. Unbeknownst to Max, his lineage predisposed him to the world of sewing and design.
Starting with basic lessons on her sewing machine, Max quickly surpassed her skills and soon joined a local sewing shop for further guidance. Designing, draping, and other aspects of his dressmaking artistry were self-taught through trial and error.
