According to online retailer Asos, in 2023, British shoppers between the ages of 20 and 29 will like ballet core, Y2K denim, 1990s grunge, film and music stars, classic shoes, and traditional clothing.
According to Asos-commissioned study, which was carried out between December 6 and 13 of 2022 by the market research firm Opinium, 20-somethings would prioritise clothes and fashion as their top priority when it comes to spending in 2023 since they believe it to be crucial to their welfare.
Despite the cost-of-living problem, Asos found that more than two-thirds (69%) of the 2,000 respondents aged 20 to 29 indicated they will spend the same amount or more on clothing and fashion in 2023 than they did in 2022. Indicating that people in their 20s are more likely to remark Compared to other categories of discretionary expenditure, including going out with friends, streaming services, gym memberships, sports, or eating out, they will safeguard their fashion spending.
Additionally, nearly nine out of ten (87%) of the 20-somethings polled identify as fashion fans, with more than two-thirds (68%) noting that their wardrobe choices play a significant role in how they express themselves.
According to Asos’ commercial design and visual director Vanessa Spence, head of menswear design Nick Eley, and head of womenswear design Melika Imoru, inspiration for 20-somethings’ fashion purchases in 2023 will come from Ariel, Barbie and Ken, and noughties stars this year.
