KURNOOL: Extensive preparations are being made for the Sankranti Utsavams, which will take place at the Sri Bhramaramba Devi Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam from January 12 to 18. On the festival of Makara Sankranti, Utsavams will be celebrated in the Telugu month of Pushya, which occurs in January, for seven days with Panchahnika Deeksha.

Mandaparadhanalu, Mulamantra Japanushtanalu, Rudrahomam, Pushpotsavam, Sayanotsavam, Panchavaranarchanalu, and other traditional rituals will be conducted as part of the festivities.
The Kalyanotsavam of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi will be held as a special function on Sankranthi Day, according to the temple EO. During the Utsavams, close to five lakh devotees are anticipated to visit the temple, he noted.
The traditional Samuhika Bhogi Pallu ritual will be held on January 14 and the Rangavalli competition will take place on January 15 on the grounds of the temple, according to Lavanna, who also stated that a few Arjitha sevas, including Rudra Homam, Chandi Homam, Mrithyunjaya Homam, and Ekantha Sevas, will be cancelled to accommodate the pilgrim rush.
