For reportedly setting a car belonging to an Army officer on fire at a hotel in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, five persons have been detained.
Written by Santosh Kumar Sharma In response to an Army Major’s Monday complaint about loud music being played at a hotel in the Vishal Khand neighbourhood of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, five persons have been detained.
The Hotel Milano Cafe has also received a warning from the Lucknow Development Authority and the site has been sealed for unauthorised building. A copy of the notification was also taped to the building by LDA authorities. By January 12, the LDA has requested responses from the hotel authorities on the unauthorised construction.
The action was taken a day after an Army Major’s car was set on fire by hotel employees in a neighbourhood next to his home in Gomtinagar called Vishal Khand, according to the police.
The hotel personnel had been requested by Major Abhijit Singh to turn down the music, but they refused and argued. Finally, the music was turned down after the cops got involved. But the army guy discovered his automobile on fire in the portico of his home the next morning in the wee hours.
Singh said in a police report that after the DJ was detained, he went home and went to sleep. On Monday at approximately 3.30 am, he noticed smoke coming from the portico of his home and then noticed that his automobile was on fire. The automobile was entirely burned by the time he was able to put out the fire.
