TDP leader Varla Ramaiah has written to the Director General of Police, requesting permission for Nara Lokesh’s padyatra, which is set to begin on January 27.
Amaravati: The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has requested police permission for party president Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh’s padyatra.
TDP leader Varla Ramaiah has written to the Director General of Police, requesting permission for Nara Lokesh’s padyatra, which is set to begin on January 27.
He assured the DGP that they will not impede the free flow of traffic or the maintenance of law and order by requesting permission and providing adequate security.
Varla Ramaiah, the party’s general secretary, stated that extremists, factionists, and political rivals pose a threat to Lokesh’s life.
“We also request you to provide necessary security arrangements throughout the padayatra and at the night halt venues in order to avoid any untoward incident. Furthermore, it is requested that appropriate instructions be issued to all police stations throughout the State in order to provide adequate security to the padayatra,” he wrote.
Lokesh has announced that he will travel 4,000 kilometres in 400 days from Kuppam to Ichchapuram.
Lokesh’s padyatra, titled ‘Yuva Galam,’ will be an innovative platform for youth. The TDP stated that it would be a campaign to mobilise youth to participate in agenda-setting and to raise their voices to express their opinions and demand change.

Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader, met with Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday to express his solidarity. The two leaders announced a joint movement against the Government Order, along with other opposition parties. They said their movement would continue till the government takes back the “black order”.
