Bahraich (UP): An eight-year-old boy and his uncle were killed when they were hit by an SUV while taking selfies on the road in this district of the state.
Anjani Kumar Rai, SHO of Hardi, said Ravi, 30, his son Yash, and younger brother Golu, 24, all of Kotwali Dehat, had arrived at the Chalhari Ghatbridge shortly before sunset on Makar Sankranti.
“According to onlookers, the two men and a boy were taking selfies on the busy bridge when an SUV hit them. “The three had parked the bike on the side of the road and were so preoccupied with taking selfies that they didn’t notice the car,” Rai explained.
Locals rushed them to the Bahraich CHC, where they were referred to the district hospital.
“During treatment, Golu and Yash died from injuries on Monday,” Rai said, adding that Ravi was in critical condition.
