Mumbai: In the Indian edition of the “Citadel” universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu will co-star with actor Varun Dhawan.
Samantha is returning to her hometown.
“When Raj & DK and Prime Video contacted me about this initiative, I decided to jump at the chance! It feels like coming home for me after working with this crew on The Family Man,” Samantha stated.
“The Citadel world, the cross-pollinated plotlines across the international productions, and most significantly, the screenplay of the Indian instalment,” she continued, “truly intrigued me.” I’m ecstatic to be a part of the magnificent world the Russo Brothers and AGBO have created.
The actress expressed excitement about her upcoming first collaboration with Varun Dhawan on this film.
“When you’re with him, he’s someone who is full of life and cheer.”
The well-known creative team Raj and DK, who serve as showrunners and directors for the unnamed “Citadel” series centred in India, are in charge of its production. Along with Raj and DK, Sita R. Menon co-wrote the local chapter.
The streaming site also declared that the Mumbai location is where the production is now taking place. The unit would next go to north India before stopping in other countries including South Africa and Serbia.
The first show to air in the Citadel world, which comes from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and stars David Weil and Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and David Weil, is scheduled to debut in 2023.
In addition to Madden and Priyanka, Stanley Tucci will appear in the first season of Citadel. There are also plans for more local-language Citadel productions, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis.
