Musharraf, a Red River College Polytechnic automotive technology student, moved to Winnipeg about two years ago.
He was a “really kind, really supportive guy,” according to Abdul Ahad, who attended the vigil at the University of Manitoba.

“We hope he’s in a better place,” he told the news outlet.
According to police, two off-duty officers witnessed the collision and rendered emergency aid to Musharraf until paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead on the scene.
So far, no charges have been filed against the driver.
