DGP Rajendranath Reddy revealed that the percentage of rape and murder convictions had increased by 66.2 percent, with 44 people convicted.
Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Rajendranath Reddy stated on Wednesday that the state’s crime rate has decreased this year.
Speaking to the media here, he stated that the number of pending cases has decreased significantly this year, with 57,000 cases settled in Lok Adalat.

He revealed that the percentage of convictions had increased by 66.2 percent, and that 44 people had been convicted in rape and murder cases. According to the DGP, charge sheets were filed in 88.5 percent of the cases, and 169 PD Act cases were registered across the state.
He also revealed that in 2022, 2,31,359 cases were registered, with murder cases decreasing from 945 to 857. However, he noticed an increase in thefts in the state.
