Greenko ZeroC and I have formed a strategic partnership to work on green molecule solutions
Granules India, a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company, announced a strategic partnership with Greenko ZeroC to collaborate on green molecule solutions and their broader applications in pharmaceuticals.
Granules and Greenko ZeroC will create and promote integrated green pharmaceutical zones (GPZ) in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada. Granules will construct a greenfield facility to produce key starting materials (KSMs), intermediates, APIs, and fermentation-based products on a large scale. The facility will cover approximately 100 acres and will be built in stages. Over the course of five years, the project will cost approximately Rs 2,000 crore.
Along with its various chemical derivatives, reenko ZeroC will provide carbon-free energy and enable green hydrogen derivatives. Granules intends to use these to make value-added products like dicyandiamide, paracetamol, metformin, and other active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates. At this facility, Granules will also produce energy-intensive fermentation-based products.
“Our collaboration with Greenko will reduce our carbon footprint and the environmental impact of our operations. “Sustainability and green chemistry are critical pillars of our commitment,” said Dr Krishna Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director of Granules.
“With technologically superior and green solutions, this collaboration will make industrial manufacturing more sustainable and competitive,” said Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty, CEO and Managing Director of Greenko.
