VIJAYAWADA: In order to get better outcomes, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to examine how the village and ward secretariats are operating.
The chief minister stressed that these secretariats are a part of the revolutionary changes his government has initiated to have an effective delivery mechanism, which ensures that welfare schemes and developmental programmes reach the people without them encountering any difficulty, while presiding over a high-level review meeting with Chief Secretary K.S. Jawahar Reddy and other senior officials at his camp office here on Wednesday.
In this sense, Jagan Mohan Reddy wished to see the introduction of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the administration of village / war secretariats, from personnel attendance to service delivery. He emphasised the necessity of holding “Spandana” programmes at the secretariats from 3 pm to 5 pm to gather complaints of people and finding solutions.
Department-based monitoring with assigned duties for each government employee is ideal. SOPs should be developed to ensure that every step of a scheme’s implementation—from conception through delivery to the intended recipient—takes place as planned.
The Chief Minister emphasised the significance of approving applications that have been submitted by individuals on a variety of topics and guaranteeing their resolution. If the same application is received twice, it should be sent to the highest level for review and resolution.
In order to attain the desired outcomes, Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged the employees of village and ward secretariats to accept responsibility for their job. He gave the department heads the order to conduct once-a-month visits to two secretariats in order to enhance their efficiency.
The CM insisted that the government employs a number of effective officials, and that their skills should be used to better serve the needs of the populace. He desired the use of cutting-edge technology that was accessible on a worldwide scale to better serve the needs of the public.
