According to information reaching their family in Guntur district, Narayana Muddana (40) and Haritha Muddana (36) were killed in the tragedy on December 26 at Woods Canyon Lake in Coconino County.
The couple, who had lived in Arizona for seven years, had gone to the lake with their daughters Pujitha (12) and Harshitha (11), who were both in their twenties (10).
The ice suddenly collapsed while the couple was photographing the lake, and they drowned.
The kids who were on the beach are safe.
According to reports, another Telugu man, Gokul Mediseti (47) drowned in the same lake, but his identity was unknown.
A rescue operation was launched by Emergency Disaster Teams. Haritha’s body was discovered the same day, while her husband’s body was discovered the next day.
Venkata Subba Rao, Narayana’s father, and Venkata Ratnam, Narayana’s mother, were both shocked in Palaparru village. Subba Rao stated that they called Narayana on Monday to check on his well-being in light of the winter storm in the United States.
He did, however, inform his parents that there isn’t much of an impact in their area and that they would be taking a vacation due to the year-end holidays.
Despite coming from a low-income family, Narayana rose through the ranks.
He got a job in Malaysia after finishing his MSc and later moved to the US.
He married Haritha, who was from the same district’s Annaparru village.
The couple and their children came to visit in June of this year.
