Last week, police received a call from a neighbour reporting that a woman had discovered her son “unconscious and bleeding” inside a home near Highway 380 and Custer Road.

According to a statement issued by the McKinney Police Department on Sunday, Subramanian Ponnazhakan, 39, of McKinney, is being held in police custody at a hospital for “self-inflicted wounds,” and his bail has been set at $1 million.
A neighbour called police last week to report that a woman had discovered her son “unconscious and bleeding” inside a home near Highway 380 and Custer Road.
Police discovered the woman’s husband using a knife to self-harm when they “forcefully” entered the home.
The boy, who was discovered in the garage with multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead on the spot.
The case is being investigated further, according to police.
“During this unbearably difficult time, we continue to keep the child’s mother and their entire family in our thoughts and prayers,” a McKinney Police Department spokeswoman said.
When officers “forcefully” entered the house, they discovered the woman’s husband in the act of inflicting self-harm with a knife.
The boy, who was discovered in the garage with multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The case is still under investigation, according to police.
“We continue to keep the child’s mother and their entire family in our thoughts and prayers during this unbearably difficult time,” a McKinney Police Department spokeswoman said.
