The bomb threat was delivered via the school’s official email address.
On Saturday, Karnataka Police investigated a hoax bomb threat to the prestigious National Academy for Learning (NAFL) School in Bengaluru.
In this case, the police took a minor boy from school and turned him over to the State Juvenile Justice Board.
According to police, the boy was identified using an IP address, and when questioned, he stated that he did it for fun. He told police that he obtained the school’s official email address through a Google search.
Following a bomb threat in Bengaluru’s Basaveshwara Nagar neighbourhood on Friday, tensions rose at the NAFL School, which is run by the National Public School (NPS) group.
The bomb threat was delivered via the school’s official email address. According to the email, four gelatin sticks have been stored on the premises and will explode at lunchtime.
The school staff immediately notified the local police. Approximately 1,000 students were removed from their classrooms and transported to safe locations. The development had also caused concern among parents and locals.
Hundreds of parents rushed to the school, expressing their outrage at the situation and demanding that they be allowed inside the school grounds to see their children. The children were later sent with them.
The bomb disposal and dog squad had combed the school grounds and later declared it a hoax threat.
