Mumbai: On Monday, Google’s office in Pune got a bomb threat, which eventually turned out to be a fake, according to the police.
The Telangana Police located and apprehended the individual who is said to have placed the call in Hyderabad. To bring the accused to Mumbai, a team from the Mumbai Police has headed to Telangana.
The caller, who allegedly lacked a number for the Google office in Pune, instead made the threatening call to the Google office’s corporate headquarters in Mumbai, according to the police. Following notification of the call, Mumbai Police made contact with their Pune colleagues, who hurried to the international company’s office, which was housed in a multi-story commercial building in Mundhwa, Pune.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and the Pune police conducted thorough searches but turned up nothing unusual. Panayam Shivanand, a Hyderabad native, has been recognized as the caller by the police.
Google reported the threat to the Mumbai BKC police station after receiving the call.A complaint has been opened by the BKC Police against the caller in accordance with IPC Sections 505(1)(b) and 506(2).
