Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would actively campaign for and fully support the Janata Dal (Secular) in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, which are scheduled for May this year. She also expressed confidence that after the 2024 general elections, a farmer-friendly government would take power at the Centre.
Speaking at a meeting hosted by JD(S) Gulbarga district president Balaraj Shiva Guthedhar in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on Sunday, the Minister stated that, in addition to Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, all BRS leaders, including Ministers, would tour Karnataka extensively in the coming days to seek votes in support of the JD (S) led by HD Kumaraswamy.
“Our goal is to bring the JD(S) party to power in Karnataka and make HD Kumarswamy Chief Minister,” she stated.
Rathod stated that Chandrashekhar Rao had prepared new agriculture and water policies to bring about a qualitative change in the country and ensure its progress.
“While the Telangana government provides a monthly pension of Rs 2,016 to old people and single women, the BJP government in Karnataka provides only Rs.600 per month,” the Minister noted. She claimed that none of the Telangana government’s welfare and development programmes were being carried out in Karnataka.
While the Telangana government increased reservations for STs in education and employment in government institutions to 10%, she claimed that the Karnataka government was not providing any assistance to the tribal community in the state.
