Hyderabad: The state government approved the use of six papers rather than 11 for the class 9 final exams and the class 10 SSC board test evaluations on Wednesday.
The letter was delivered to the directors of government tests and school instruction.
According to the updated standards, class 9 and class 10 summative assessments 1 and 2 as well as the SSC public examinations will be held with equal weighting for the six papers and a 20:80 ratio for formative assessments and summative assessments/board examinations.
The physical sciences (physics, chemistry) and biological sciences (biology) portions of the science test would each have a distinct question paper with 40 points, authorities explained, outlining the intricacies.
The test will generally take three hours, however 20 extra minutes will be allocated for the scientific exam to allow for the collection of the first part’s response scripts and the distribution of the second part’s question sheets.
Additionally, an extra 20 minutes will be allocated for composite course exams, which will include two hours for Telugu/Urdu, one hour for Sanskrit/Arabic/Hindi, and an additional 20 minutes for collecting answer sheets and distributing question papers in the time between the first and second portions.
There are two papers for oriental languages, Sanskrit (Paper-I-23 and Paper-II-24) and Arabic (Paper-I-25 and Paper-II-26), each worth 200 points under the Oriental Secondary School Certificate (OSSC) programme. There will be two exams in the test, Paper I and Paper II, each carrying 100 points.
According to officials, a candidate must receive 56 out of 160 points to pass.
According to the SSC Public Examinations programme, candidates should also show up for Part-I languages as well as any two of three non-language courses; a passing grade in at least one non-language subject is required.
The test administered under the Vocational Education Scheme won’t alter.
