How can one tell if they are sad or depressed?
Sadness is a common feeling. When your degree of melancholy is high, you might call yourself “depressed.” How can you know when profound melancholy turns into serious depression, though? Unhappiness is a part of depression, but it’s not the only part. Clinical depression is a mental health condition with several symptoms, such as persistent weariness, losing interest in once-enjoyable activities, and suicide and death thoughts.

“Being in a condition of depression is very different from merely being sad, it may require long-term therapy and management through psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic therapies,” explains Ashi Tomar, in-house psychologist at Veda Rehabilitation & Wellness.
