ANANTAPUR: Some BLOs have been suspended as a result of fraudulent activities involving the voters list in Andhra Pradesh.

This came after Uravakonda TD MLA Payyavula Kesav complained about the deletion of voters in his district. An officer from the Chief Election Commission was sent, and he visited voters in a village in Uravakonda and looked over the voter list.

But the day before a Wednesday visit by a CEC representative, the Anantapur collector halted two BLOs after spotting difficulties. They were accused of altering the voting list and removing voters’ names without giving them prior warning.

The anomalies at Cheekalaparvi hamlet in Uravakonda, including the removal of voters’ names from the election record, were investigated by Avinash Kumar, principal secretary to the central government.

The CEC-deputed officer interviewed the voters whose names were removed from the list in order to gather proof.

Legislator for the TD Kesav said that names of legitimate voters from the villages of Chikalparvi were erased without warning. He provided EC with a statement and supporting documentation.

The Anantapur collector, according to Kesav, suspended two BLOs the day before the EC’s visit, but did nothing to the Uravakonda ARO and RO who were acting improperly. He said that by employing volunteers and applying pressure on BLOs, at least 6,000 votes were eliminated in the Uravakonda sector alone.

He stated, “We submitted a thorough complaint to the ECI-deputed officer against the YSRC,” and noted that several instances of signature forgery had also been discovered. He predicted that similar fraudulent activities will be detected and corrected throughout the state when the TD appointed panels to do so YSRC activities are mentioned.

A TD team conducted a random poll in the Uravakonda assembly sector and found that none of the voters had received notices allowing them to remove their names from the voter registry if they so chose.
