The terms of MLCs for Hyderabad Local Authorities (MS Prabhakar Rao) and Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Teachers (Katepally Janardhan Reddy) respectively expire on March 29 and May 1.
Hyderabad: On March 13, two seats in the Telangana Legislative Council, one for teachers and one for local authorities, will be up for election every two years. The timetable for the two Telangana Legislative Council seats and the 13 seats for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council were both issued on Thursday by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The terms of MLCs for Hyderabad Local Authorities (MS Prabhakar Rao) and Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Teachers (Katepally Janardhan Reddy) respectively expire on March 29 and May 1.
Notifications for these elections will be released on February 16, according to the ECI’s announcement. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 23. The nominations will be reviewed the following day. February 27 will be the final day for withdrawal of nominations. The voting day is March 13. Voter tally will be discussed on March 16.
The ECI declared that the model code of conduct for these elections will take effect right away in the aforementioned seats. As a result, Telangana’s Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer were instructed to make sure that the current directives on Covid-19 containment measures were followed when making preparations for the elections.
