RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Late on Thursday, a man was detained for reportedly stabbing two daughters and their mother in Kondaprolu village in West Godavari’s Tadepalligudem mandal. Rojulapati Kalyan has been recognised as the defendant (21). Inspector N Satyanarayana Murthy of Tadepalligudem Rural Circle claims that despite Budigina Manikyam’s repeated rejections of Kalyan’s approaches, he has been harassing her for the last few months.
Following her undergrad, Manikyam was enrolled in a computer course at Tadepalligudem, according to the CI, which also stated that the stalker would not budge despite Yedukondalu, the 19-year-father, old’s warning him not to bother his daughter.
In response, Kalyan came up with a scheme and on Thursday broke into Manikyam’s home. Prior to exiting the scene, he assaulted her mother Bagyalakshmi and sister Venkatalakshmi. Neighbors raced to the scene when they heard the pandemonium and transported the injured to Eluru hospital.
Kalyan was detained by police on Friday night in Tadepalligudem town, close to Kondaprolu village. Police chief for West Godavari, U Ravi Prakash, stated that the accused will appear in court on Saturday.
The SP went on to say that Kalyan entered Manikyam’s home by removing CCTV cameras and turning off the electricity. The head of the women’s panel insists that the accused Vasireddy Padma, the chairwoman of the Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission, visited the hospital in Eluru and consoled Manikyam’s family in the meantime. She begged district SP Ravi Prakash to initiate a rowdy sheet against the suspect and charge him under IPC Section 304 in a conversation with him (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
The State government will take every precaution to safeguard them, Padma told the hurt ladies. In attendance were B Vineetha, a member of the AP Women’s Commission, Vijay Kumar, the hospital’s director, Eluru DSP Pydeswararao, Padmavathi, the project director for the ICDS, and local police officials.
