From December 29 to December 31, sales of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) decreased in the former Adilabad district.
Adilabad: From December 29 to December 31, the former Adilabad district observed a decline in sales of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), which came as a New Year’s surprise to the Prohibition and Excise department.
Prohibition and Excise officials report that between December 29 and December 31, composite Adilabad registered alcohol sales at Rs. 9.61 crore as opposed to Rs. 11.27 crore during the same time in 2021, a decrease of 14%. There are 192 licenced establishments in the area altogether.
In comparison to the same three days in 2021, sales in the Mancherial district, which is recognised for having the biggest alcohol sales, totaled Rs. 3.97 crore in 2022.
However, throughout the course of the three days, the region saw an increase in beer sales. Beer sales in the former Adilabad district reached 11,069 cartons as opposed to 10,586 cartons, a 5 percent rise.
In terms of beer sales, Mancherial district outperformed Nirmal, Adilabad, and Kumram Bheem Asifabad. In the three days, 5,128 cartons of beer were sold, compared to 3,200 cartons in Nirmal and 1,475 cartons in Adilabad. In Kumram Bheem Asifabad, 1,266 cartons were sold.
Meanwhile, it was stated that butcher store locations saw strong New Year’s sales. In the former district, which has around 500 chicken stores and 300 meat markets, sales totaled Rs. 10 crore over the course of three days.
