On Monday afternoon, Hyderabad’s metro system encountered a technical issue, causing several hundred passengers to be stranded for nearly 30 minutes. The glitch disrupted the frequency of the metro on the red line, leading to overcrowding at the metro stations. The problem was first noticed at around 12 noon when trains on the red line began experiencing unexpected delays.
Despite efforts by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) to resolve the issue, it took approximately 30 minutes for the situation to be resolved. The delay in train service caused a significant rush of commuters, resulting in overcrowding at Ameerpet metro station. However, after extensive efforts by the HMRL technical team, the technical glitch was eventually resolved.
