Hyderabad: Following the passing of renowned actor and filmmaker K Viswanath, actor Kamal Haasan posted a handwritten note on his social media accounts expressing his condolences.
“Kalathapasvi K Viswanath gaaru well comprehended the transcience of life and immortality of art,” the “Vikram” actor, who has a unique affinity with the director, wrote. As a result, his artistic legacy will endure long beyond his death and rule. His art will endure. Kamal Haasan 2023 (sic) is a devoted devotee. Salute to a master, he said as the post’s caption.
On Thursday evening, Viswanath died away at a Hyderabad private hospital where he was receiving care for age-related conditions. He was 92.
The actor jokingly refers to the director as “master.” Kamal Haasan first visited Viswanath at his Hyderabad residence in November 2022. He posted a sweet photo from the meeting on social media. “Met the maestro #k.viswanath sir at his residence,” he wrote. Lots of respect and fond memories!! (sic).
Viswanath has helmed 53 movies during the course of a career that has lasted over 60 years. He co-starred with Kamal Haasan in the flicks “Subha Sankalpam,” “Kuruthipunal,” and “Uttama Villain” and directed the three legendary Telugu movies “Sagara Sangamam,” “Swathi Muthyam,” and “Subha Sankalpam.”
