In order to recycle soiled denim pants, jean skirts were originally created in the 1970s. Since then, they have occasionally maintained their status as a fashion standard. In recent seasons, denim skirts of all kinds have become essential core pieces in many designer collections. As a complement to the little skirt, the longer length variant has become one of the most popular. Long denim skirts may be worn throughout the year, much like jeans.
Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini debuted a traditional long denim skirt with a jean-style belt and an extra front insert on the Spring/Summer 2022 runways.
Burberry’s rendition for Pre-Fall 2022 was straight and extra-long with few design accents, displayed underneath a shirt and coat in coordinating mid-toned blue denim.
Long denim skirts have also seen in fashion-forward ensembles, such as Vetements’ Fall/Winter 2022 collection. This extra-long style (shown above) was displayed in blue denim that was branded with the company’s emblem.
The long denim skirt is available at the retail level at all price points. From Maison Margiela, a version with a frayed hem is cut from panels of two-tone denim – 495,- US dollars.
