The Ministry of Textiles funds and assists in organising the event each year with the express purpose of promoting handloom
Hyderabad: On January 4 at 5 p.m., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Sports, and Youth Services Srinivas Goud will officially open the “National Handicrafts Fair,” which is a component of the “Sankranthi Sambaralu.” The event will continue through January 18.
According to a news release, the festival is held annually with support from the Ministry of Textiles and is only intended to support and develop the industry’s original craftsmen in the handloom, handicrafts, and jute sectors.
According to reports, 250 craftsmen will have their work on exhibit during the expo, including woodcarving, handicrafts, blue pottery, terracotta, bamboo, cane, and jute goods, among other crafts.
In order to engage the guests, cultural programmes are also scheduled for the nights. Visitors may attend the mela at Shilparamam from 10.30 am to 8 pm.
