The Moscow-Goa flight that had to make an emergency landing in Jamnagar in Gujarat on Monday due to a bomb threat had no suspicious items on board.
By Saurabh Vaktania: The National Security Guard (NSG) searched the aeroplane throughout the night but discovered no bomb or suspicious device, hours after an international flight from Moscow to Goa had to make an emergency landing in Jamnagar, Gujarat, due to a bomb threat.
According to the Jamnagar SP, the NSG scrutinised every passenger’s bags at the airport. The flight would likely depart on Tuesday about 10:30 am, according to the airport authorities.
“NSG, police, and BDS teams performed a thorough search operation. Passengers’ hand luggage and checked luggage were both checked. After completing the necessary formalities, the aeroplane will take off for its intended destination of Goa. A bogus call was made, “The Jamnagar collector claimed.
On the aircraft, there were more than 240 people. Following a bomb threat, all passengers were deplaned, and the aircraft was examined.
The chartered flight from Moscow to Goa successfully touched down at Jamnagar Airport at roughly 9.49 p.m., according to the airport’s director. “All 244 people on-board de-boarded at the airport,” he said.
There is nothing to worry about since we are observing what is happening here. We are not taking any chances, but this might possibly be a rumour, said Vasco Salim Shaikh, the deputy superintendent of police.
According to the Russian Embassy in India, “the Embassy was informed by Indian authorities about the claimed bomb fear aboard the Azur Air flight from Moscow to Goa. The plane made an emergency landing at Jamnagar Indian Air Force Base. Authorities are inspecting the plane, but everyone on board is safe.
