Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao stated that social crusader Savitribai Phule firmly felt that protecting women’s rights was the only way to ensure the protection of human rights. He remembered her commitment to the country’s efforts to promote social and gender equality on the occasion of her birth anniversary on Tuesday and paid her a heartfelt tribute. She was the first woman teacher in the nation.

He recalled the support she had had in this area from her husband, Jyoti Rao Phule, and he praised them as examples for the younger generation to follow.
Savitribai persisted in her quest for the equality of women and members of the disadvantaged classes despite several obstacles. Chandrashekhar Rao urged the young to draw inspiration from Savitribai Phule’s accomplishments as a social reformer, writer, and multi-talented woman in order to serve the country, saying that she battled against injustices with tremendous tenacity. He claimed that her principles for the advancement of India’s social justice were still applicable today.
The Chief Minister claimed that Savitribai Phule’s contributions to helping the downtrodden groups right up till the end of her life were irreplaceable. He said that the Telangana administration was upholding Savitribai Phule’s legacy and advancing women’s equality. By adopting several programmes and welfare measures, the State government has set an example for the nation in attaining women’s empowerment He suggested there should be more initiatives like this.
