Hyderabad: For the sixth year in a row, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur is listed among Variety’s “500 Most Influential Leaders in the Global Media Industry” (2017–2022). Some of the most innovative movies and television series of 2022 were made by Siddharth’s production company Roy Kapur Films, including the all-time streaming sensation Rocket Boys and the Oscar-nominated drama “Last Film Show” (also known as “Chhello Show”).
Apart from Roy Kapur, there are just eight Indians in this year’s “Variety” list, including Mukesh Ambani, Shah Rukh Khan, SS Rajamouli, and Akshay Kumar.
The platform has acknowledged Siddharth’s ability to manage the Producers Guild of India (PGI) for an unprecedented six years, as well as his involvement in guiding the content strategy in 2022 and taking Indian storytelling to new heights.
