The Pakistani-American actor shared a post on Instagram in which she claimed that the “treatment” she received from the “Tere Naam” actor led her to “chose to have affairs.”
Somy Ali, an actress-turned-social activist who has frequently spoken out about her ex-boyfriend and actor Salman Khan’s physical abuse, has brought up the subject again.
The Pakistani-American actor took to Instagram to share a post in which she revealed that she “chose to have affairs” due to the “treatment” she received from the ‘Tere Naam’ actor.
“I have no qualms in admitting that because of the way he (Salman) treated me, I made the decision to have affairs, which were essentially a search for someone who would love and care for me. Someone who would not insult me and would instead be pleasant to me. “Unfortunately, I was unaware that these men were simply using me, and I was building a future with each affair while being used,” she wrote.
“When Salman learned of these affairs he had the guts to after beating me saying that I am a man and only men can cheat not women. “I was shocked by that statement and the sexism it emitted,” Somy Ali added.
The post, which included a vintage photo of the ‘Yaar Gaddar’ actor, included a lengthy caption that detailed everything she had to endure during the ‘eight years’ she spent with him, which she described as “the worst years of my entire existence.” “In addition to numerous affairs and flings, he would constantly make fun of me by calling me ugly, stupid, and dumb. “There wasn’t a day that went by when he didn’t make me feel worthless and small,” she wrote.
“For years, he refused to acknowledge me as his girlfriend in public, and when he did, he insulted me in front of his friends and berated me nonstop,” she added. Somy also shared a video on Instagram in which she claimed that the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor had banned her show ‘Fight of Flight’ from Discovery Plus.
“Mr. Khan has provoked me by banning my show, ‘Fight of Flight,’ which enabled us to rescue victims from India. We rescued 82% of the victims who were Indian women. “Indian men and women make up 90% of our dons,” she says in the video.
“Mr Salman Khan has hampered this process by approaching Discovery Plus and requesting that our show be banned in India. This is why, after 20 years, it took courage for me to speak out in order to save the lives of Indian men, women, children, and members of the LGBTQ community. He took it away from us, which is why I spoke up,” she explained.
The 46-year-old ended the video by requesting that the 57-year-old actor issue a “public apology” for his alleged misdeeds.
“What I want from Mr Salman Khan is to confess what he did to me and put me through verbal, sexual and physical abuse. “I also want a public apology, which a narcissistic person would probably never do,” she said.
Somy was last seen on screen in the 1997 film ‘Chupp,’ after which she turned to social activism for women’s rights in South Asia. In 2006, she founded ‘No More Tears,’ an NGO.
In the 1990s, she had a well-publicized relationship with the ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ actor.
