According to Reddy, “even if Maoists use explosives to blow up the chief minister’s official mansion, it would be of little importance because it was of little benefit to the people.”
On Wednesday, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders reported Telangana Congress president A. Revanth Reddy to the police, and the governing party has called for rallies in response to Reddy’s statement about the Chief Minister.
Police have received complaints over the Telangana Congress chief’s divisive statement.
The police stations in Mulugu and Narasmpet received the complaints. The BRS leaders voiced skepticism on the possibility of a plot being the source of Revanth Reddy’s words.
The complainants claimed that as part of a plot to imperil the life of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Congress leader instructed Maoists to blow up Pragati Bhavan.
Revanth Reddy, head of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), made the contentious comments on Tuesday in Mulugu district while on his current Hath Se Haath Jodo padayatra.
Revanth Reddy, a Lok Sabha member, claimed that Chief Minister KCR was oblivious to the plight of the populace since he was encircled by the Pragati Bhavan’s walls. He continued by saying that Pragati Bhavan was useless to the people, thus it wouldn’t matter if Maoists destroyed it with a bomb.
What purpose is a building constructed with hundreds of millions of rupees if the chief minister is unconcerned about the misery of the populace when he is inside of it? If the public finds no purpose for it?” he questioned.
He said that hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money were used to develop Pragati Bhavan and questioned why KCR family lives there.
Protests against Revanth Reddy have also been called for by the BRS in the meantime. The party has instructed its members to torch the Congress leader’s effigies while protesting.
Large-scale demonstrations will take place in the Narasmpet constituency on Wednesday, according to BRS MLA P. Sudershan Reddy. He declared that the demonstrators will carry out Revanth Reddy’s mock funeral processions and burn his effigies.
A MP who advocates detonating the Pragati Bhavan is strongly condemned, according to the BRS leader. He stated that the Congress party, which had previously outlawed the Maoists, must to respond to its own leader’s appeal for the Maoists to blow up the chief minister’s official house.
The MLA asked that Revanth Reddy be charged for violating the Preventive Detention (PD) Act and imprisoned.
Revanth Reddy was asked to step down as an MP and be suspended from the Congress party by Sudershan Reddy.
