Farmers are encouraged to sell their products early by the high prices.
WARANGAL: A farmer from Khammam district on Friday achieved a record price of Rs 80,100 per quintal for his output at Enumamula agriculture market in Warangal due to the huge demand for the “desi” red chilli variety’s potent perfume and flavour.
T. Ramulu, a resident of Khammam district’s Ravi Chettu thanda, took ten bags of “desi” red chilies to the market where he was paid Rs. 80,100 per quintal.
Additionally, 48 bags of the “wonder hot” type were delivered to the market and sold for between Rs 31,000 and Rs 37,000 per quintal, while 265 bags of the “US 341” kind were also sold for between Rs 20,000 and Rs 26,000 per quintal.
