From this academic year, or 2022–2023, nine government teaching hospitals will provide a total of 860 places in BSc allied health sciences.
Hyderabad: For the first time, government teaching hospitals in Telangana are now able to offer BSc programs in allied health sciences.
This is seen as a significant step toward guaranteeing a consistent supply of the technical skills required for diverse medical areas in government institutions and even in the private sector.
In the past, there has consistently been a dearth of highly skilled technicians in the nation who are required to carry out vital tasks in technologies relating to anesthesia, operating rooms, dialysis, critical care, cardiovascular technology, and other medical departments.
The Telangana government has authorized nine public teaching hospitals to offer a total of 860 seats in BSc allied health sciences beginning with the academic year 2022–2023 in order to increase the pool of human resources needed to support the expanding medical infrastructure in government hospitals and, in the process, improve the quality and accuracy of healthcare services. The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) was the sole organization providing these courses up until this point. The State government awarded an Essentiality Certificate/No Objection Certificate to offer first-year BSc allied health technical programmes at nine government medical institutions in order to solve this deficit of allied health sciences.
The 860 BSc allied health courses will be filled by the KNR University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, using a framework they will develop. Gandhi Hospital has 150 seats, Osmania General Hospital has 210 seats, Kakatiya Medical College has 130 seats, RIMS in Adilabad has 60 seats, Government Medical College Nizamabad has 110 seats, Government Medical College Siddipet has 50 seats, Government Medical College Nalgonda has 40 seats, Government Medical College Suryapet has 40 seats, and Government Medical College in Mahabubnagar has 40 seats (70).
Anesthesia technology, operating room technology, respiratory therapy, renal dialysis, neuroscience technology, critical care technology, radiology and imaging technology, audiology and speech therapy, medical records sciences, optometric technology, critical care, and cardiac and cardiovascular technology are just a few of the courses that will be available.
