The country’s exports for the same time totaled $24,594.27 million, which is just an increase of $150 million over the fiscal year 2020–21
Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, reported to the Rajya Sabha on Friday that Telangana’s pharmaceutical exports for the fiscal year 2021–22 were $4,446.78 million, an increase of $800 million over the previous year. Contrarily, the country’s pharmaceutical exports over the same time were 24,594.27 million dollars, or just $150 million higher than the fiscal year 2020–21.
Anupriya Patel responded to a question on the subject posed by BRS member B Parthasaradhi Reddy in the Rajya Sabha by stating that during the fiscal year 2020–21, the country’s pharmaceutical exports were 24444.03 million dollars, while Telangana’s exports totaled 3672.65 million dollars. Similar to this, during the 2019–20 fiscal year, the country’s exports totaled 20703.46 million dollars, whereas Telangana’s exports totaled 2972.25 million dollars.
According to the union minister, recent trade agreements signed by India, such as the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between India and the United Arab Emirates and the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement between India and Australia have opened up new markets for Indian pharmaceutical products. She stated that the trade partners in question were routinely updated on the market access concerns raised by Indian pharmaceutical exporters through bilateral institutional channels and Indian Missions.
