In order to enter Uttar Pradesh, Akasa Air launched its inaugural flight from Lucknow, the airline’s eleventh city on its network. With this, Akasa Air would operate daily flights between Lucknow and Mumbai and Bengaluru. At 1100 IST, the first aircraft between Lucknow and Mumbai left from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, honoured Akasa Air’s arrival into the state in front of Vinay Dube, the company’s founder and CEO, and his staff.
“Uttar Pradesh is one of the top states in domestic tourism and tourist mobility in India,” Adityanath said in response to the start of the inaugural flight from the region. The Akasa narrative is in line with the country’s efforts to make flying more inexpensive through Prime Minister Modi’s rallying cry, Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik. This launch is another another step in our mission to expand the nation’s economy by improving key transportation connections, he added.
With the inclusion of Lucknow as the newest location to its network, Akasa Air has reiterated its commitment to connecting metro areas to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, facilitating connection to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The airline’s Lucknow operations will serve the increasing demand for travel out of the city while providing its distinctively friendly and trustworthy service to customers at the most reasonable costs.
Goa was recently added to Akasa Air’s network as the airline’s 12th destination. In January 2023, three daily flights between Goa and Bengaluru and two between Goa and Mumbai are planned. The airline’s operations in the state would be made easier by the recently opened Manohar International Airport (Mopa).
