Tirupati: According to A.V. Dharma Reddy, executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, automatic laddu-making equipment would be installed in Tirumala by December of this year for a cost of Rs 50 crore. Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he stated that beginning on February 5, the hundi collections will be counted in the new Parakamani facility.
He added that Muralikrishna, a devotee from Bangalore, gave Rs. 23 crore toward the construction of the structure, which has all contemporary amenities.
He stated that the Tirumala temple “Ananda Nilayam” gold plating project had been delayed by six months. He said that because the local contractor was running behind schedule on the gold plating work for the Vimanagopuram of the Sri Govindarajaswami temple in Tirupati, international bids will be requested for the work at Ananda Nilayam. According to Dharma Reddy, 20.78 lakh worshippers saw Lord Venkateswara in January.
The proceeds from the selling of laddus brought in Rs. 1.07 crore, while the hundi revenues totaled Rs. 123.07 crore. He said that while 37.38 lakh people consumed Annaprasadam, 7.51 lakh people had their heads toned at Kalyana Katta.
