Virat Kohli got his 45th century in ODIs at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati during the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka. Additionally, the Delhi-born batsman tied Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds scored at home.

Virat Kohli needed 80 balls to reach 100.

After March 2019, Kohli achieved his first domestic ODI century.

Against Sri Lanka, Kohli also hit his tenth century in an ODI.

On January 10, during the opening game of the three-match series against Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Virat Kohli got his 45th hundred in ODIs.

In addition, Kohli tied Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds scored at home. Sachin and Kohli both have 20 hundreds. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who hit 13 hundreds from 153 games, is second on the list.

Against Sri Lanka, Kohli also hit his tenth century in an ODI.

In addition, Kohli reached 100 in an ODI for the first time at home since he last did so in March 2019 against Australia. It was Kohli’s subsequent ODI hundreds after the one he hit against Bangladesh at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium that stood out, though.

Additionally, against Sri Lanka, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds. At the same time as Tendulkar amassed eight hundreds, Kohli surpassed that mark against the Islanders.

In the 47th over in the Indian batting order, Kohli needed just 80 balls to get his century. After Shubman Gill was crucially dismissed by Dasun Shanaka in the 20th over, Kohli entered the batting order.

From that point on, Kohli didn’t stop and continued easily milking the bowlers. Virat was dismissed in the last over of the Indian innings while trying to boost the ante. He attempted to challenge Kasun Rajitha, but all he managed was a top edge. Kusal Mendis positioned himself behind the ball and made an easy catch.

Before becoming Rajitha’s third victim, Kohli hit 12 fours and one six to amass 113 runs off 87 balls. The score was same to what Virat achieved in Chattogram against the Tigers.
