The sacrifices and efforts of the revolutionary freedom warriors will be honoured forever, according to Sawant.
On Monday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant sent his best wishes on the occasion of the state’s Liberation Day and stated that the goal of a “Golden Goa” was being slowly approached.
On December 19, 1961, the coastal state was freed from Portuguese domination.
“It gives me great satisfaction to be a part of Goa’s development as it moves forward. We are getting ever-closer to the “Golden Goa” we have always imagined. On the occasion of #GoaLiberationDay, warm congratulations to the Goan populace, Sawant said on Twitter.
He said that the revolutionary freedom fighters’ sacrifices and efforts will be treasured forever.
The CM said, “I take this opportunity to honour the courageous members of the Indian Armed Forces who spearheaded Operation Vijay and granted the state of Goa “Liberation” from centuries of colonial tyranny.
