The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Nellore has stepped up its investigation into the theft of documents from the city's IV Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Court that were related to a case involving Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy. The complainant in the case, prominent TDP politician Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, was interviewed by CBI agents while they were in Nellore. Speaking to the media on Friday, Somireddy said that CBI agents Nirmala Devi and Ananthakrishnan interrogated him for more than 1.5 hours and instructed him to file a formal complaint the next week. "Kakani had fabricated documents to show that I had accumulated significant wealth by tarnishing the reputation of my family. When the police showed up, they discovered that Prakash had gotten out of the washroom through the window. The SP also disclosed that the defendants had been arrested in related instances at several police stations in the former Guntur district.
